Skiving knife 80x30mm

Skiving knife 80x30mm, hand forged from high carbon Silver steel in Sheffield. 

Based on a blade I made for Jonathan from Hydeware with a slight variation in size and thickness. The blade is used for cutting and thinning the leather. The handle is not glued to allow maintenance (the blade is friction fit in the handle and very secure). Harden then tempered at 55HRC.

Kurouchi (blacksmith finish), flat single bevel, satin.

Wa handle made from one piece of English Elm 120mm length

Overall length : 205mm
